  2. I've heard rumours that McCain is planning on bringing up Ayers tonight. I see no value in that. Hasn;t it become apparent that voters aren't reacting to that...and when they are, it is with markedly negative feelings?

  4. In addition to what Dean is mentioning, the video of the woman at a McCain rally who tries to finger Obama as an Arab.

  5. I'm intrigued. When Obama stopped wearing a flag pin on his lapel, everyone FLIPPED. However, McCain hasn't been wearing his recently either yet no one has mentioned anything.

  6. McCain's attack form on that response was shoddy...he should have questioned, it would have resonated better than the attack.

  7. WHOA MCCAIN...nice little jab there calling out Obama's logic on raising taxes, even when he admits to hating them!

  8. McCain is off to a hot start. He is actually answering the questions presented to him and giving some damn good arguements...interesting that he jsut brought in the line item veto. that hasn't been an issue for nearly ten years

  9. finally "I am not President Bush!"

  11. Good point by Obama, you can't tie negativity to a lack of town hall meetings...oh wait, there he goes again talking about things that don't relate to anything

  12. McCain was doing great, but talking about these conspiracies and shady connections are doing nothing to help his case

  13. Hey all its Dean.I'm blogging from the roadin the dark so excuse my spelling and grammar. Jamesdoes not have a lighted keyboard. Overall the debate was awesome. (Or what we got to see of it firsthand)I was pretty close to the action, saw some arrests, some horse trmplings and some other cool stuff. I think I covered it all in my extreeeeemly long winded phone interview. I can't speak as to the debate since we're notin a viewing area but the energy outside was awesome though the mood turned tense at times. I have awesome pics and videos which I'm sure James will put up. It was awesome to see democracy at work. (in adition to having Fox 5's Linda Evers wink at me)Despite having nothing of real substance to say I just wanted to check in with you all. Good to see the debate is raging on here.

  14. Obama is talking about developing a clean car..but we don't have nationalized auto industries. The American gov't can only go so far

  15. Job creation is definetly the backbone of both candidate's arguments and is sure to be the aspect that resonates with voters regarding this energy question

  16. WHO IS JOE THE PLUMBER

  17. This healthcare issue is one big quagmire. Both candidate's programs are misleading and confusing.

  18. Nice for a supreme court question! People too often forget that Stevens is getting old and approx. 4 other judges (i think?) are 70s+.

  19. GFreat point by McCain. Obama has consistently avoided important votes. He has NO record

  20. Nice answer on the abortion question by Obama. "No one is in favor of abortions..."

Also, i agree with mcCain on adoption, but the infastructure of our adoption agenciesa re in shambles. If we want to use them, we need to make sure they can handle the number of children placed into their care.

  21. Another lackluster debate for slacker America. If Bob Schaeffer had any gumption he would have grabbed Obama by an ear and poked McCain in his tender chaw demanding they answer a question directly. Don't talk about talking directly to the issues -- as if it's some novel idea you plan to get to -- actually do it. "Do you know what programs will have to be trimmed or cut?" "Not at this time." See? Easy. Done. "Would you like fries with that?" "Yes, small please." Simple. Answer the question that is asked, Obama. Don't act to be so wounded and hurt by words, McCain. You survived torture as a POW for goddsakes. Are you telling me all Charley had to do was claim that you were a racist and you would have given up the names of the men in your unit because you're that sensative and hurt by words?! Look folks, we're down to choosing -- once again -- the guy who is least likely to screw things up too bad. Neither is great -- no one ever is. I thought age mattered and impacted on experience... but both candidates have shown equally that a litmus test breaks them dead even on those two points. Maybe I'll ask Joe the Plumber what he thinks when I'm buying him a Candidate coffee at 7-Eleven.

  22. Oh, and yes -- I am cranky, because this whole deal was WAY past my bedtime and I'm still up and I have to do this tomorrow night too with the parents of all my students. 2 nights in a row of no sleep makes Pop goes the quiz are very real scenario.
